For more than 3,000 years, penguins have ruled the frozen kingdom of Iluliaq. But one day, the king of the penguins disappeared. The seals, polar bears and other flightless birds found an ancient legend inscribed in the ice: "He who defeats the Iceberg will be crowned the new king".
Before starting a game of Iluliaq (which means "Iceberg" in Inuit), the iceberg must be built. A central structure composed of cards and the game box, where players throw their cards hoping they will land on the iceberg.
When a card lands on the iceberg, the player who dropped it ends his turn without further action. But if the card lands in the water (everything that is not the top of the iceberg is considered water) or pushes another card into the water, that player must pick up all the fallen cards and place them in his own hand.
Some cards contain special powers that are activated when they land on the iceberg. For example, once the bear has landed on the iceberg, it has the option to eat the first card that lands right on top of it. This action forces the player who threw the card, the one that landed on the bear, to draw a new card from the center deck to his own hand. Another animal with a special power is the seal, which has the ability to stay in the water when it falls off the iceberg instead of returning to the player's hand. The first player to run out of cards in hand wins the game!
